BBC Stargazing Live @ Tatton Park

Just a quick note to let you know that we will be taking part in the BBC Stargazing Live event at Tatton Park on Thursday 10th January 2013.

Admission to the event is free, but by ticket only. For further information and to apply for free tickets please visit the BBC ticket website here.

The event at Tatton Park will involve a number of spectacular free family activities. These include planetarium shows; live stargazing, telescope surgeries and astrophotography workshops. There’ll be the chance to get hands on with meteorites, and see what they’re made from through telescopes and take part in a create a crater activity to see how meteorites, comets and craters are formed on the surfaces of the Earth, Moon and other bodies in our Solar System.

About Sarah Crowther

I'm a Post Doc in the Isotope Geochemistry and Cosmochemistry group. I study xenon isotope ratios using the RELAX mass spectrometer, to try to learn more about the origins and evolution of our solar system. I look at a wide range of samples from solar wind returned by NASA's Genesis mission to zircons (some of the oldest known terrestrial rocks), from meteorites to presolar grains.
